As a wedding photographer, I tend to get giddy when brides inquire with unique aspects to their wedding day:

A colorful wedding dress? YES!
Trash the dress session in the water? YES!
A destination wedding? YES!
In Grand Cayman’s Island? YES! YES! YES!

This past June, I arrived at the Westin on Seven Mile Beach in the Grand Caymans ready to fully embrace the humidity, indulge in umbrella-topped drinks, and capture Justin and Jamie’s wedding celebration. This adorable-yoga-loving duo kicked off their wedding celebration in true Caribbean form at one of their favorite destinations. Guests, including moi, embarked for a memorable getaway filled with sun-drenched excursions. The celebration festivities included a cabana beach day, a night filled with tropical drinks at a local bar, a stingray expedition, and jet-ski adventures.

On their wedding day, Justin could be found sipping a cold brew, tackling his teal tie and throwing down one-liners that kept us all laughing.

In the bridal suite, his future wife was slipping into her mermaid-inspired gown. Her infectious smile and yoga-toned physique glistened in her azure dress. YES! And if you are wondering if Jamie fully embraced her inner mermaid by immersing herself into the turquoise Caribbean Sea, then YES! And if you are hoping that there was a giant pelican floaty involved, there was. But first, Jamie and Justin exchanged vows with the white sand beach and smoldering sun as their witnesses.

Immediately following the ceremony, Justin and Jamie went for a quip dip in the ocean for portraits and cruised on an inflated bird. Once the mermaid and her new husband changed out of their soaked wedding attire, it was time to join the party.

The tropical island reception kicked off after the golden sun dipped below the horizon. Jamie arrived in a champagne dress, her smile still just as infectious as the start of the day. With chilled bubbly in their hands, guests shared tales of Jamie and Justin’s love for one another. The all-encompassing love they find in one another is evident to all.

Jamie and Justin, thank you for choosing me to capture this wild and crazy week celebrating the life you two have in front of you. I hope you married days from here on out are filled with many adventures and giant-sized pelican floaties!
