I was introduced to Kenny and Melanie through a photographer colleague of mine, the lovely Erika Overholt. Kenny is her brother! To be referred to a family member by another photographer is one of the biggest compliments! 🙂 So sweet of her to trust me with her family celebrations!

Melanie started getting ready in the charming white farmhouse on site with her friends and family. She did a first look with all her gals and then one with her dad which was super sweet. Kenny got ready in the Groom suite in the upstairs of the barn. The lovely Rachel Case helped me capture their festivities! Shots were enjoyed and Kenny’s mom and sister paid a visit to him with a sentimental gift which had us all in tears…

Wedding time! Considering this was end of October in Colorado…the weather was perfect! A little snow on the ground and the warm sun in the sky 🙂 After they said “I do”, we did family photos and bridal party photos, and then ventured over to the 17th hole for sunset photos. I love The Barn at Raccoon Ranch for all of it’s lovely photo spots! Melanie had some funny dance moves added into the mix and Kenny helped her with setting up her dress for shots (the sweetest!). Then it was reception time! Speeches, food, cake cutting and of course father/daughter, mother/son dances. Then the floor opened up to dancing for all, complete with a dance teacher who showed everyone in the room how to do specific country dances as a collective. It was a super creative way to get everyone involved and having the best time!

I stole the two of them away for a few minutes to get some night shots under the string lights and stars (night shots have become my favorite to do!) Then the time came for the sparkler exit and as always, it didn’t disappoint. Congrats Kenny + Mel!
