As a wedding photographer, it is a huge (HUGE!) honor when a fellow photographer asks you to capture her wedding day…not only once but twice! Prior to their September 6th wedding, Kristin and Ryan eloped with a very intimate group of friends and family at the courthouse. Then these two lovebirds got married in front of their extended friends and family.

And moi was chosen to capture it all! Huge honor!

Kristin (being a rad photographer herself) nailed down this killer location for her nuptials to her long-time Firefighter-beau, Ryan.  Near the picturesque town of Golden, Colorado, lies the Boettcher Mansion. This 101-year-old mansion in the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve was home to Ryan and Kristin’s burgundy-ruby-and-crimson-infused wedding. It made sense for Kristin, a super creative and well-organized bride, to book this venue for her big day. The property offered endless history and character.

Although the September day was a wee chilly it brought about the most lush and glorious lighting. From the wooded portraits to the cobblestone patio ceremony, the diffused sky brought Kristin and Ryan’s vision to life.

Under the bistro strands above them, these two confirmed their vows to one another. After the ceremony, guests entered the Fireside Room for dinner. Ryan and Kristin were pampered with toasts about their longtime love and compatibility. “They are perfect for each other!” Along with a little bit of friendly teasing. “It was about time!”

Shortly after dinner, Ryan and Kristin approached the Firefighter themed dessert table. How rad was it for them to cut their cake with a Firefighter ax?

Once again, major props to these two for their creativity. I guess that’s what you get when you capture a wedding photographer’s wedding day!!
