Nestled near Vail lies the breathtaking picturesque ski town of Beaver Creek. It is here where the jaw-dropping beauty of the Rocky Mountains served as the backdrop to Patty and Cadu’s wedding day. In true Colorado fashion, the weather swayed from warm summer air to predictable afternoon drizzle. Also, in true Colorado fashion, the mountains were magical throughout it all.

Two years prior to this beautiful August day (8-18-18, baby!), Patty and Cadu met at their USC (Fight On!) master’s program. Side note: I love hearing love stories about people meeting and falling in love in challenging environments. One day, you are prepping yourself for an intense one-year post-graduate program and the next day, you meet your spouse. I mean, who knew that the beautiful, sweet and smart woman in business class was going to be Cadu’s future wife? Likewise, who predicted that the handsome, friendly and intellectual Brazilian man was going to be Patty’s husband in two years? Life is so unpredictable, you gotta love it!

Patty and Cadu’s wedding day was an explosion of everything that represented their worlds. They were surrounded by the vibrancies, culture and love of their Brazilian friends, Indonesian friends, USC friends, Villa Nova friends, and respective families.

One moment the guests were toasting to the couple and the next moment, the whole reception broke out into a Brazilian song and dance led by one of the guests. I loved watching the diverse group of friends and family unite together to celebrate Patty and Cadu.

From the beginning of the day to the final dance of the evening, the love and support surrounding these two were palpable.

Now for a little Q&A with this cute couple:

When and how did you two meet?

We met at our 1 year MBA program at USC in July of 2016.

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Our values and goals are very similar. We push each other to be the best version of ourselves

!

How did he propose?

He proposed to me in Paris at a restaurant behind the Grand Palais, where his grandfather and father used to take him when he was younger.

How did you choose your venue for your day?

My family has been going to Beaver Creek for 20 years. We were both in Colorado over the summer and we saw how beautiful it was and how many activities you can do. It became the perfect destination wedding spot.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding day?

I wanted my wedding to be elegant and sophisticated. My first priority were the guests and making sure that they had everything that they needed and most importantly had fun.

What is one thing you wish you had done for your wedding day?

The one regret I had was probably not getting a videographer, but at the same time I had so many videos of the wedding sent to me it wasn’t a huge deal.

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

My favorite moment was right before the ceremony as Carlos and I were waiting for everyone to get situate. It was just the two of us walking across Beaver Creek Village. We had just finished taking our first look photos and the moment gave us an opportunity to let the day sink in and relax before the whole event.

Any advice for future couples about planning for their wedding?

Enjoy your day. Take a moment with your significant other and really let the “marriage step” sink in. Also roll with the punches. It rained all morning on my wedding day, and I needed to be flexible enough to adapt to the situation. Don’t let the small details ruin your wedding day because it’s the first day of your lives together. The best is yet to come!
